1997 Gibson ES-335 HIstoric

Gibson's iconic 1959 'dot neck' ES-335 with a beautiful maple top with figuring. This example's neck has been shaved to true 59 spec shape, changed pickups (Lollar  and Throbak) and changed tuners. The pickups ohm out nicely at 7.93k (bridge) and 7.02 (neck).

Serial number is A-97018, decoded as: (A or B)-MYRRR 

M is the model year being reissued

Y is the production year, 9 with an “A” prefix = 1959 ES-335 (dot inlays) (1997)

RRR indicates the guitar’s place in the sequence of Historic ES production for that year.

The weight is a comfortable8 lb 7.2 oz. Includes Gibson hard case.
