1969 Fender Stratocaster

The Fender Stratocaster is iconic in both sound and design. This Hendrix era example features a beautiful faded Sonic Blue refinish with rosewood fretboard. The date stamp is August 1969, the same month as the Woodstock music festival. It's a great addition to anyone's collection.

Body: Alder body with professional refinish, original sunburst finish and routing marks shown in control cavity. Original contours intact. 

Neck: Flamey maple neck with rosewood fretboard, pearloid dot inlays. Fender decal logo intact on iconic late 60s large headstock design. Truss rod moves freely.  No modifications. Neck stamp is AUG 69. 

Pickups/Hardware: Original electronics with three way switch, grey bottom pickups are strong at 5.59 (bridge) and 5.54 (middle) 5.41 (neck). Original F stamp Schaller tuners hold strong. Bridge saddles are in great condition and move freely for easy intonation. Pots date 32nd week 1969. Original white/black/pearloid pickguard with pearloid on underside. Includes tremelo arm and bridge cover. 

Cosmetic Condition: Honest play wear throughout. No breaks or cracks. Condition is well loved, not abused. This example is similar to the 1969 Stratocaster featured on page 73 in The Authority of Stratocaster book by Shinko Music Mook. A copy of the book is included with sale. 

Playability: Original frets show play wear with plenty of life left.  Currently set up and intonated with standard 10-46 strings. 

Weight: Comfortable at 8lb 1oz

Case: Vintage hard case with purple interior/ black exterior in great condition.  Handle intact. All Cheney England latches and hinges intact.
