The Fender Stratocaster is iconic in both sound and design. Here's your chance to purchase an original example in classic sunburst. This one is rare as it features an early production large headstock with gold/black transition logo.
Body: Original sunburst finish with natural checking throughout. The red hues in burst have gracefully faded.
Neck: Maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard. Pearl dot inlays. Nut Width: 1 5/8”. Nut has been replaced. Neck stamp is Dec 1965.
Pickups/Hardware: Original single coil pickups are strong at 6.01 (neck), 6.05 (middle) and 6.02 (bridge). Pencil dates are 1-10-66. Pots date 32nd week of 1965. Double Kluson tuners hold strong, evidence of different tuners on guitar at one time. Pickguard has been modified at top to access truss rod. Bridge saddles are Fender American Vintage reissue. Jack replaced with vintage Switchcraft. One strap button replaced with vintage Fender.
Cosmetic Condition: Plenty of honest play wear, dings, checking. No breaks. Well loved, not abused.
Playability: Replaced frets show some play wear, but plenty of life left. This guitar has THE Stratocaster sound that we all look for in Strats.
