1965 Fender Stratocaster

The Fender Stratocaster is iconic in both sound and design. Here's a player's priced dream. It's the best way to get into a vintage original.

Body: Original sunburst finish with natural checking throughout. The yellow hues in burst have gracefully faded.

Neck: Pre CBS spec 'small headstock' with Fender logo intact. Maple with rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays. Newer frets. Truss rod moves freely.  Date stamp at heel is JUN 65.

Pickups/Hardware: Single coil pickups are strong at 6.35 (bridge), 5.94 (middle) 5.85 (neck). Original three way switch is intact. Double line Kluson tuners hold strong. Bridge saddles are in great condition and move freely for easy intonation. Pots date 14th week 1965 and 20th week 1964. Neck plate stamped L84120.

Cosmetic Condition: Honest play wear and checking throughout. Schaller style tuners were added to headstock at some point, and there are extra holes on back of headstock because of this. Extra marks on front of headstock around tuner bushings. Black touch up paint present on side to cover wear marks. Extra hole on headstock from added string tree, and two tiny holes in cutaway. One tremelo spring and saddle screws are replacements. Missing back plate and tremelo arm. No breaks. Condition is well loved, not abused.

Playability: Replaced frets show some play wear with plenty of life left. This guitar has THE Stratocaster sound that we all look for in Strats. It is currently set up and intonated with standard 10-46 strings.

Weight: 7lb 4.4oz

Case:Original Fender 'no logo' hard case in well used condition.  Handle intact. All hinges and latches intact.
