1961/1965 Fender Jazzmaster

From The Ventures to Sonic Youth, many bands have had their sound defined by the Fender Jazzmaster's unique tone. This example is rare with custom color body and matching headstock. 

Body:Old orange refin over Candy Apple Red over Lake Placid Blue finish. Natural checking throughout. Original white guard as used on solid color models, white knobs unique to 1965. Natural checking throughout. Body shows 1965 appointments including neck plate serial number 116226. Fender's classic balanced offset body shape.

Neck: Matching refin orange headstock with repro Fender logo. Repaired cracks on back of headstock. Maple neck with dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Clay dot inlays. 7-61 neck date written in pencil. 7.25" radius fingerboard with 21 frets, 25.5" scale. Nut Width: 1 5/8”.  

Pickups/Hardware: Grey bottom wide single coil pickups look original Fender, strong at 6.74 (neck) and 6.64 (bridge). Tuners are replacements. Hardware on body appear original. Pot codes date 45th week 1965 and 51th week 1964. 

Cosmetic Condition: Plenty of honest play wear, dings, checking. Well loved. 

Playability: Frets show some play wear, but plenty of life left. Nice medium action. Notes ring out clear and true throughout the fretboard.

Modifications/Repairs: Repaired headstock, total old refin in orange. 1961 neck on 1965 body. Replaced tuners.
