The Gibson Les Paul is iconic in both sound and design. This 1979 'Goldtop' features a solid mahogany body with maple cap, maple neck, 'soap bar' P-90 pickups. It has a 1950s vibe favored by collectors and player's such as Mike Ness of Social Distortion. This example is similar to his signature model launched in 2022.
Body: Mahogany slab body with carved three piece maple top (seam separation noted in finish). Original gold finish features natural relicing throughout.
Neck: Three piece maple neck, volute, bound dark rosewood fingerboard. Serial number 71569589 stamped at headstock.
Pickups/Hardware: Lollar P-90 pickups are strong at 8.05 (neck), and 9.27 (bridge), Replaced hardware include Kluson Deluxe tuners, nickel ABR-1 bridge, frets, pickguard, reflector knobs, two potentiometers. April 11th 1979 stamped in pickup plate.
Cosmetic Condition: No breaks or cracks. Normal play wear on neck and body.
Playability: Guitar has been fully set up and intonated in shop. It plays beautifully with a straight neck.

Case: Gibson 'Protector" in great shape. Case candy includes Mike Ness stickers, cassette tape, pick, stage pass.
